The next chapter of women’s leadership in Virginia

Every March, Women’s History Month gives us an opportunity to reflect on how far women in Virginia have come — and how far we still have to go.

A generation ago, women in the commonwealth faced narrower career pathways, limited access to capital, and fewer seats at decision-making tables. Today, Virginia’s women are business owners, entrepreneurs, educators, health care leaders, public servants and innovators shaping one of the most dynamic state economies in the country. That progress deserves recognition. 

But Women’s History Month is not simply about celebration. It is about ensuring that progress is durable, inclusive and accessible to every woman — regardless of ZIP code, race or income level.
