Fall 2026 Internship
The Virginia Women’s Foundation (VWF) is seeking two motivated, curious, and creative interns to join our team during the fall 2026 semester. This is a hands-on opportunity to support programs that empower women, amplify their voices, and invest in their leadership.
Interns will gain experience in nonprofit programming, communications, podcast production, social media, and leadership development while working alongside the VWF team.
What You’ll Do
Depending on interests and experience, interns will support a variety of projects, including:
Podcasting: Research potential guests and topics; develop interview questions; assist with scheduling and recordings; learn podcast production best practices; and help edit and publish episodes.
Communications: Create and support social media campaigns that promote VWF programs, events, and stories.
Women on the Run: Support VWF’s nonpartisan campaign training program for women interested in running for office. Interns will help prepare participants and materials for weekly trainings, assist with program logistics and communications, and support the overall participant experience.
Leadership Programs: Assist with planning and coordinating leadership workshops and other VWF programs.
Special Projects: Contribute creative ideas and support other projects that advance VWF’s mission.
Internship Details
Fall 2026: September thru December 2026
Hours: Approximately 7–10 hours per week
Location: Virtual - VA based
Compensation: $15/hour stipend
Opportunity to continue: Possibility of extending the internship into 2027
Technology: Interns must have access to their own computer and reliable internet.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is curious, creative, dependable, and excited to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
A passion for women’s leadership and amplifying women’s voices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
An interest in nonprofit organizations, advocacy, communications, campaigns, or leadership development
Experience with Canva, or enthusiasm for learning
Experience with podcasting, audio/video editing, or digital media—or a willingness to learn
The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and bring new ideas to the table
You do not need to have experience in every area listed above. We value curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
